Project PUUSH: Project for Universal Understanding of Sustainable Health

Project PUUSH is Grow Partnership Tennessee's (GPT) bold initiative to transform wellness economics and reduce healthcare and social disparities in urban Appalachia. Through transformative social programming, it promotes equity, strengthens resilience, and fosters sustainable community well-being. At its core is the Framework for a Health Equity-Driven Incubator, which would integrate culturally competent health education with innovative business training to drive meaningful change.

The acronym PUUSH—Project for Universal Understanding of Sustainable Health—encapsulates our mission and symbolizes our drive to “push” toward these goals and a universal understanding of wellness communities.

Project PUUSH is dedicated to empowering underserved communities in South-Central Appalachia by advancing health equity, social justice, and sustainable well-being. By leveraging strategic partnerships, fostering community engagement, and providing essential health education, PUUSH addresses public health challenges and builds resilience. Its initiatives include establishing sustainable wellness communities, developing a Health Equity-Driven Incubator Framework, advocating for legislation that recognizes racism as a public health crisis, and driving long-term improvements in healthcare access and social equity throughout the region.
